Where did you grow up?

Eugene, Oregon.

Lola the 4 month old Catahoula.

First triathlon:

Summer Open Sprint.

Why did you get into triathlon?

I got into triathlon because a friend convinced me do to an Ironman - I had no idea I would fall in love with the sport!

Goal for 2017:

45 minute PR in 70.3 (shouldn't be hard since last time I was throwing up the entire way).

Favorite Quote:

Make your race a playground, not a proving ground. -Lauren Fleshman.

Biggest Inspiration:

I'm inspired by people who steadfastly follow their own values - people like my mom, the women of Oiselle, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Favorite food:

Burgers + sweet potato fries.

Coffee or Tea:

Would you rather be a dog named killer or a cat named fluffy?

Dog named killer - I'm a dog person all the way.

If you could spend one day with anyone (dead or living) who would it be?

David Foster Wallace (author of Infinite Jest). I think he's fascinating. We'd go into the mountains somewhere and wax poetic.

What does #BeAVixxen mean to you?

Being a Vixxen means upholding the principles that made me want to be a triathlete in the first place: unrelentless discipline, humility, and passion. Being a Vixxen means creating a community that builds each other to higher mental and physical potential than one could reach alone.

One thing that most people don't know about you?

I wrote a book in college! Just for fun. Maybe one day I'll write another....
