Nickname:

Cat, Kitty-Cat, Catnipp

Bike's name:

Cervelo - Pony.

Where did you grow up?

Washington, D.C.  straight from the city, itself, literally!

Children/Dogs?

Dakota, Husky-Wolf Hybrid, 1.5 yrs.

First triathlon:

Octoberfest Sprint.

Why did you get into triathlon?

I was a Cat 1 cyclist with an intense love for running.  Triathlon allowed me to explore my horizons as a swimmer and I got to jump off my bike and run my heart out.  100% love at first triathlon.

Goal for 2017:

To win my age group or podium at 70.3 Worlds.  Also to be top 10 overall at 70.3 Whistler.

Favorite Quote:

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” - Hunter S. Thompson

Biggest Inspiration:

My coach and boyfriend!  He was top American at Kona a number of years in a row and top 5 pro at Ironman world champs 10 yrs or so ago... okay I admit it.  ;)  Blue sky and mountains.  And my dog, Dakota who is 100% fearless and playful with unbounded joy.  Nothing could phase the love and enthusiasm!

Strange race habits or rituals?

Lots of coffee and pre-runs before any races.

Favorite food:

Indian.  Saag with coconut milk and chai.

Coffee or Tea:

COFFEE!!!!!

Would you rather be a dog named killer or a cat named fluffy?

Killer. - fluffy only if it was ironic and was actually a killer... that would be hilarious!

If you could spend one day with anyone (dead or living) who would it be?

I need to think about this one... this is a great, hmm!  Not my official answer, however!  Running with my father who still runs at currently 79yrs old.  And riding bikes with my boyfriend in the mountains (although I do that once a week).  + swimming with him in Hawaii (which I'll be doing this weekend)... Is that cheezy or no?

What does #BeAVixxen mean to you?

Being strong, determined, as badass and amazing as absolutely possible;  Taking on challenges professionally and with joy, enthusiasm, and wild belief that I will succeed with due diligence and in time.

One thing that most people don't know about you?

I sing to myself loudly on my bike in the mountains when I'm climbing and no one's around.  Really a range of stuff from trancey Tove stuff, to Sublime to ridiculous stuff you might have liked when you were 12 before you knew social pressures and that anyone might hear you belt it out, like Celine Dion, 'it's all coming back to me *now!'.  Don't tell, pleeze!  ;)
